New Marvel Rumor Claims to Reveal the X-MEN Role Hunter Schafer Is Up For
A few months ago, several of the main X-Men cast members were revealed for Marvel’s upcoming reboot, including Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Adam Driver will play Nathaniel Milbury, aka the villainous Mister Sinister.
Since then, we have learned that Asa Germann will be playing Warren Worthington III, aka Angel, Ben Wang is rumored to be taking on Bobby Drake, aka Iceman, and Maya Boyd will be playing Ororo Munroe, aka Storm. There are obviously other members of the team who are still missing, but a new rumor claims to reveal the actor who is in talks to take on one main role.
CB reports that scooper James Mack claims that Hunter Schafer, known best for starring in Euphoria and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, is up for the role of Mystique.
A mutant born with superhuman abilities, Mystique is a shapeshifter who can mimic the appearance and voice of any person. Her natural appearance includes blue skin, red hair, and yellow eyes. She was portrayed by Rebecca Romijn and Jennifer Lawrence in previous films.
While it’s just a rumor that Schafer is in talks, this sounds like a solid choice to me, so hopefully it all works out. Stay tuned for updates on the project. Marvel’s Untitled X-Men movie is set to be released on May 5, 2028.
