Patrick Stewart Is Still Pushing Paramount to Make a STAR TREK: PICARD Movie
Star Trek: The Next Generation star Patrick Stewart really wants Paramount Pictures to produce a Star Trek: Picard movie. He’s actually actively pushing the studio to get a film made for the big screen.
While talking to Time Magazine, Stewart shared his desire to bring Captain Jean-Luc Picard in a movie alongside the Enterprise crew, but he is looking to do something different. He explained:
“I am gently pushing Paramount to let us do one single Picard movie. Not a Next Generation movie, as we have already done four of those. This would be an expansion and deepening of the universe as we’ve seen it in Star Trek: Picard. I’ve discussed this with Jonathan [Frakes], Brent [Spiner], and LeVar [Burton], and they are all game.”
While Paramount+ has said that the final Star Trek: Picard season is the last adventure of the Enterprise-D crew, the show's cast all want to come back for more! Stewart previously talked about wanting to make a Picard movie, saying:
"I think we could do a movie, a Picard-based movie. Now not necessarily at all about Picard but about all of us. And to take many of those wonderful elements, particularly from Season 3 of Picard, and take out of that what I think could be an extraordinary movie. I keep telling people and mentioning it, and so far there's been no eager response, but it might well happen. And that would be I think a very appropriate way to say, 'And goodbye folks.'"
I would love for Paramount to make a Picard movie. I’d be more interested in that than seeing J.J. Abrams continue to make his Star Trek 4 movie. It’s crazy to me that the executives at Paramount haven’t jumped at the chance to do this yet.
