Patrick Stewart May Appear in DEADPOOL 3 as He's Been Told to "Standby"

It looks like there’s a chance we may not have seen the last Patrick Stewart as Professor X in the MCU. The actor has played Xavier for years, and after Logan was supposed to be the last time we saw him in the role, he ended up appearing in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where his character was brutally killed by Scarlet Witch.

Well, it looks like there’s a chance that he will reprise his role again in Deadpool 3, Wolverine 10, Deadpool and Wolverine, Wolverine and Deadpool, or whatever you want to call it. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have had a lot of fun joking around with the title of the movie, but until the title is officially announced, we’ll just call it Deadpool 3.

The film is deep in development at the moment, and in a recent interview with CB, Stewart was asked if the actor would be returning for one more Marvel adventure and this was his reply: "I've been told to standby. I know nothing more than that, honest."

Being told to “standby” is a big deal as it means that they are at least considering bringing him back as Professor X! There are certainly plenty of jokes to make about Stewart’s version of the character, especially with what happening in the Doctor Strange sequel.

It would also be fun to see Hugh Jackman reunite with Stewart for the first time since Logan. Then, of course, you throw Deadpool into the mix and things get ridiculously crazy, which is what the fans are expecting.

Deadpool 3 is being directed by Shawn Levy, who previously teased the R-rated violence and foulness of the film, saying: "We are writing, rewriting, developing, prepping Deadpool every day now. It is such a blast to laugh every day. It is so delicious to hear and write and come up with these scenes where people are just talking foul. And the violence is in your face and hardcore, and it's very much a Deadpool movie."

Also, Wolverine and Deadpool are not going to get along in the movie. Wolverine hates Deadpool, and Jackman previously talked about that, saying: “How do I categorize it? Ten being really close, zero being the reality, we’re zero, we’re opposites, hate each other. I’m just talking from my perspective, [Logan’s] frustrated by him, wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head. Unfortunately, he can’t be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I’m probably going to punch him in the head a lot.”

Deadpool 3 is scheduled for a November 8, 2024 release.
