SHE-HULK Star Tatiana Maslany On Season 2 - "Disney, Was Like 'No Thanks'"
It sounds like we won’t be getting a second season of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law after all at Marvel. It was previously rumored that Season 2 would go into development after the writers strike, but according to star Tatiana Maslany, the series won’t continue.
During a recent appearance on NerdIncorrect's Twitch livestream, Maslany was asked if the Marvel show would be getting a second season, and this was her response:
"I don't think so. I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like 'no thanks.'"
Judging by that response, Maslany is pretty confident that She-Hulk isn’t going to continue. The news comes after it was reported that Disney CEO Bob Iger was "apoplectic" about the big widespread VFX issues with Marvel when he returned to take charge of Disney. It was also reported that the She-Hulk VFX issues were a “symptom of a deeper rot — namely a lack of oversight on script development.” Those scripts were described as being “half-baked.”
In regards to Maslany’s comment of blowing their budget, It was also revealed that a single episode of She-Hulk cost $25 million to produce.
Rick and Morty's Jessica Gao created the show, and when she previously talked about a possible Season 2, she said: "I feel like this must be what it feels like for people who have had kids. This is how my favorite kids describe when they have their first baby and then everybody's like, are you going to have another kid? And they're like, I literally just gave birth. I'm in labor in delivery. I just gave birth. I'm still on a hospital bed. Give me a second. And that's how I feel right now."
It sounds like Gao may not get the opportunity to make a second season, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
