Spectacular Full Trailer for SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE!

As promised, Sony Pictures has dropped the full trailer for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, and this is going to be an insanely spectacular movie! I’m a big fan of the first movie, but this sequel is going to take the franchise to a new energized level, and it could very well be better than the first movie!

In the trailer, Miles Morales is told that being Spider-Man is a sacrifice and has a choice of saving one person – his dad – or saving every world. You’ll see what happens when you watch the trailer!

The trailer is filled with some awesomely crazy and vibrant visuals. I absolutely love the wildly unique animation style of this franchise, and it seems like the sequel leans harder into that style. Producer Chris Miller previously said: "It’s been fun to have the confidence to go even harder and push the medium even further and take Miles [Morales] to places you couldn’t imagine.”

Writer and producer Phil Lord also said “It goes hard,” and, “The visuals will be jaw-dropping.” Mile Morales voice actor Shameik Moore went on to tease: “I will say that this story tops the first one. If the sky was the limit last time, the sky is now the floor. We’re stepping on it and looking at Jupiter!”

The film follows Miles Morales as Brooklyn’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, “plunged into the multiverse where he joins forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-folks to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.”

After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, “Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.”

The trailer offers additional details on the Miles’ story and when talking about the film during a previous interview producer Chris Miller explained: “Our contract with the audience is to bring them something they’ve never seen before. The first film was about bringing characters into Miles’ dimension. This is about Miles heading off into others.”

The film will consist of 240 characters, and the cast also includes Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen, Brian Tyree Henry as Miles’ dad, Jefferson Davis; Luna Lauren Velez as Miles’ mom, Rio Morales; Issa Rae as Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman; Jorma Taccone as Vulture; Rachel Dratch; Shea Whigham; Greta Lee; andJason Schwartzman as Spot.

There are also multiple universes explored including Gwen’s Earth-65, with its distinctive watercolor palette; the India-inspired Mumbattan; Nueva York, the home of Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man 2099, aka Miguel O’Hara; the punky New London, inhabited by Daniel Kaluuya’s Hobart “Hobie” Brown, a.k.a. Spider-Punk; and then there’s a secretive fifth dimension that’s being kept tightly under wraps for now.

The movie is being directed and produced by Justin K. Thompson, Joaquim Dos Santos, and Kemp Powers. Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Christina Steinberg are also producing. Lord and Miller will also be credited as writers on the film, along with David Callaham.

The movie is set to be released on June 2nd, 2023! There’s also a third installment, Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse, already dated for March 29th, 2024.
