STAR WARS: AHSOKA Season 2 Reportedly Started Development Before the Strikes Hit
Earlier this week, the fifth episode of Star Wars: Ahsoka dropped, and it was embraced by fans as being one of the best episodes yet. We’ve got two episodes left in this first season, and they are sure to be exciting and eventful chapters that wrap up the season.
Well, it looks like this won’t be the only season of Ahsoka. According to entertainment insider Daniel RPK, the story will continue with a second season. It’s reported that Season 2 has been green-lit and that work on the project had already started by the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes kicked off.
I guess this shouldn’t come as a surprise as the story for the first season is leading up to the Ahsoka finding Thrawn and Ezra. Once that happens, a whole new story begins and that story will be told over the course of Season 2.
Episode 5, "Shadow Warrior," ended with Ahsoka and Huyang traveling to an unknown destination in the mouth of a giant interdimensional space whale known as a Purrgil. They are hoping that the whales lead them to their long-lost friend Ezra Bridger and prevent the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who will wage another war against the Rebels.
It’s going to be interesting to see how things play out over the course of the next two episodes, but it’s good to know that the story will continue after that.
Rosario Dawson stars as Ahsoka and she’s joined by Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.
Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.
