STREET FIGHTER Movie Moves Forward with The Directors of TALK TO ME

Danny and Michael Philippou, the team behind the upcoming awesome horror film, Talk To Me, have just landed a big movie project! They are in final negotiations to direct Legendary Pictures’ feature film adaptation of the classic video game, Street Fighter!

This is an interesting project for them to jump into. It was previously revealed that they turned down an offer from James Gunn to direct a DC movie for DC studios. The filmmakers said at the time: “They offered us a project, but we decided not to go for it at the moment. We wanted to, yeah, just stick with our original material for the time being.”

But now they are directing a Street Fighter movie, which definitely isn’t original material. I just assume that Legendary made them an offer they couldn’t refuse, and also… it seems like Steet Figher would be a freakin’ cool movie to make!

It was announced a few weeks ago that Legendary picked up the rights to Street Fighter, and they jumped right into developing a movie! As a long-time fan of Street Fighter, I’m excited that we’re going to get a new movie.

It’s still too early in development to know what the story will entail, but I think it’s safe to say that we’re going to see a lot of familiar characters from the game, and that they’re going to fight! I’m a big fan of what the Philippou bros. did with Talk To Me, and I hope that their Street Fighter movie will be just as strong.
