Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk Future in the MCU Hits a Snag as She “Has No Interest” in Working with Disney
Tatiana Maslany’s future as She-Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe might be headed into uncertain territory, and a new report has fans wondering what happens next for Jennifer Walters.
A fresh update from reliable industry insider My Time to Shine suggests that Marvel Studios still has big plans for She Hulk. According to the report, the studio wants the character to appear “in a big way” in Avengers: Secret Wars, the sequel to Avengers: Doomsday.
The challenge comes with the actress behind the character. It’s expained that Maslany “has no interest” in working with Disney at this point. For Marvel fans hoping to see her smash back into the franchise, that’s not the update they were expecting.
If Marvel Studios cannot change her mind, the report states the studio will be left with two choices. They can either recast the role or remove the character from the current MCU roadmap entirely. Neither option is ideal for fans who embraced Maslany’s take on the hero in She Hulk: Attorney at Law.
Maslany hasn’t detailed her grievances with Disney specifically, but she has been vocal on a number of issues this year that put her at odds with the company.
In September, she joined several actors calling for a boycott of streaming platforms such as Hulu and Disney Plus after ABC, a Disney owned network, suspended Jimmy Fallon from his job for a week.
She has also been outspoken in her support for Palestine and urged her followers to cancel their Disney+ subscriptions due to the company remaining on the BDS list, a collection of products advocates encourage people to avoid because of ties to Israel.
Marvel Studios has been actively working to reshape the future of the MCU, especially as it heads toward Avengers: Secret Wars, one of the most anticipated projects on its upcoming slate. Losing Maslany’s She-Hulk would create a noticeable gap.
Jennifer Walters brings a different energy and perspective to the superhero lineup, and her dynamic with characters like Bruce Banner and Daredevil opens the door for some storytelling possibilities.
Marvel clearly wants Maslany in the mix and fans would love to see her return, but it’s hard to say where things ultimately land. Recasting would be a tough sell and removing the character feels like it would leave some unfinished business.
