THE BOYS Spinoff Series GEN V Renewed for Season 2 at Amazon
Amazon has renewed The Boys college-set spinoff series Gen V for a second season! The show seems to have been a big hit for Prime Video, and they are excited about continuing the story that they started. I’ve enjoyed the series, and I think the quality is on par with what The Boys has delivered. It’ll be fun to see the story arcs for these characters explored further.
The news comes midway through Season 1 with the big season finale set to premiere on November 3rd.
The project is inspired by the G-Men, which is a parody of the X-Men in The Boys comic book series. “Set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.”
Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Chance Perdomo (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Lizze Broadway (Bones), Shelley Conn (Bridgerton), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters), London Thor (Shameless), Derek Luh (Shining Vale), Asa Germann (Caviar), Patrick Schwarzenegger (The Staircase), Sean Patrick Thomas (Barbershop), Marco Pigossi (Invisible City), and Clancy Brown.
The series comes from Eric Kripke and producers Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, who previously described Gen V as being “more shocking” and filled with all kinds of “really crazy shit.”
Are you happy to hear that we are going to be getting another season of Gen V?
