THE FANTASTIC 4: FIRST STEPS Set Photos Include Baxter Building's Excelsior Launch Pad

Some photos from the set of Marvel’s The Fantastic 4: First Steps have surfaced online and some of them feature the Baxter Building's Excelsior launch pad. Other photos include futuristic city streets and it possibly includes Yancy Street.

Production on the film is currently underway in London and according to a map released at Comic-Con of this alternate reality 1960s New York City, the Excelsior launch pad sits adjacent to the Baxter Building and it’s where the team will rocket off in the Fantasticar when setting off on adventures together.

As you’ll see, the "4" logo on the launch pad will glow blue in sunlight. The film’s production team is also constructing whole city streets to shoot on. With this film taking place in a retro-futuristic and unique take on New York City, they’ve got to build these city streets because shooting on location won’t work.

There’s also a set photo that is described as a "small town." But, there’s a chance that this actually might be Ben Grimm's stomping grounds of Yancy Street.

Take a look at the photos from the set of The Fantastic Four: First Steps below, and let us know what you think!

The Fantastic 4 is set in the ‘60s in an alternate-reality version of New York City. We saw some test footage of this at Comic-Con and it looks awesome!

The movie stars Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning) as Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman; Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch; and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Punisher, The Bear) as Ben Grimm, aka the Thing.

Paul Walter Houser also recently was cast in the project in an unknown role, Natasha Lyonne, and Julia Garner (Ozark, Inventing Anna) will take on the role of Shalla-Bal, who is an incarnation of Silver Surfer. Ralph Ineson will play Galactus.

The screenplay comes from Josh Friedman, who was brought in to rewrite the script originally written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.

The Fantastic 4 is set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
