THE FLASH Star Sasha Calle Confirms She's Met with DC Studios About the Future of Supergirl

The Flash star Sasha Calle really hopes that she gets to continue playing Supergirl in the DC Cinematic Universe. She was great in the film, and it would be interesting to see a film expand on her story in some way.

Well, it seems like conversations of making that happen have begun. During a recent interview with USA Today, she said "I hope to continue playing Supergirl," and revealed she has met with DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran to discuss to possibility. She went on to say, "I love her so deeply and I feel so connected to her."

We have no idea what the future looks like for Calle’s version of Supergirl. But Safran and James Gunn did announce a Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow project, which will be a part of the new DCU Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.

Calle previously said: “I think that [The Flash] is really a runway to a bigger story for her. We don’t really get to experience a lot. I feel like this is a runway to a bigger story. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, by Tom King, is an incredible comic. I love it. I think it’s so cool. So yeah, I would hope to continue. I hope to continue playing Supergirl for sure.”

When talking about the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow it was revealed: “This is based on Tom King’s wonderful comic book series that came out just last year. It's up for a bunch of awards. This is a very different type of Super Girl. In our series, we see the difference between Superman who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time is an infant versus super girl who was raised on a rock chip off of Krypton and watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life, and then came to earth when she was a young girl and is much more hardcore. She's not exactly the Super Girl we are used to seeing.”

I liked Calle’s version of Supergirl, but with The Flash having a disappointing opening weekend at the box office, who knows what’s going to happen with this franchise and these characters?
