THE MANDALORIAN Season 2 Reportedly Brings Back Ming-Na Wen As Fennec Shand and Other Details
One of the biggest complaints I saw regarding The Mandalorian is when Ming-Na Wen’s character Fennec Shand was taken out so fast.
The character was introduced in Chapter 5, “The Gunslinger,” and she was shaping up to be a badass character before seemingly being killed. At the end of the episode, a mysterious character finds her and it looks like that character nurses her back to health.
According to That Hashtag Show, Fennec survives and Wen was on set and filming scenes for Season 2, so that’s good to good to know! I honestly never believed that she was dead in the first place. I also still think the mysterious character who came to her aid is Boba Fett. But, there are some fans who think it’s Moff Gideon. But the sound of the spurs is what sells me on the Fett.
The site also reports that there will be a couple throwback characters. Sandtroopers and Imperial Gunners. “Now, the appearance of Sandtroopers is intriguing. Could they be linked to Tatooine, and perhaps Fennic Shand’s rescue? It could, however, signal Din Djarin’s travel to yet another Outer Rim, desert planet in Star Wars.
As for the Imperial Gunners, “the clamshell-helmeted troopers are usually seen at Imperial installations or on capital ships. If they’re still around, it’s a good guess that we’re going to see a lot more of Moff Gideon and his residual, Imperial forces.”
I’m excited to see what The Mandalorian Season 2 is going to give us! Rosario Dawson was recently cast in the live-action role of Ahsoka Tano, and Michael Biehn was even cast as a Bounty Hunter!
Jon Favreau confirmed that he will direct at least one episode of Season 2. It was also previously reported that Carl Weathers would direct an episode, and it’s been said that Bryce Dallas Howard returned as well. It was also recently reported that Robert Rodriguez is directing at least one episode as well.
The Mandalorian returns to Disney+ in the fall.
