The Russo's Release AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Teaser Starting The Official Countdown to Release

The Russo Bros. dropped a short but loaded teaser on social media that kicks off the release countdown for Avengers: Doomsday.

With anticipation building around the first real look at Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, this brief promo reminds everyone that the next massive MCU event is coming, and it’s closer than it feels.

The teaser was shared on Instagram by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, accompanied by a simple caption that reads, “1 year…” The video opens on a clapperboard bearing the title Avengers: Doomsday. It also lists cinematographer Newton Thomas Sigel, along with roll number #A12, scene A5, and take number 2, a small production detail that will have fans wondering what it means.

From there, the clip cuts to a digital countdown clock set at “12:00:00:00:00,” marking exactly twelve months. Seconds later, the timer ticks forward to “11:29:23:59:59,” officially starting the march toward release. No footage from the movie is shown.

This teaser arrives just days after the Russos posted a cryptic black-and-white image with no explanation, which sent fans scrambling to decode its meaning. Whether that image connects directly to Avengers: Doomsday or was simply meant to stir the pot, it clearly worked.

Early reports claimed the debut trailer would play in front of Avatar: Fire and Ash. Follow-up chatter took things even further, suggesting four different trailers would roll out over four weeks, each one attached to James Cameron’s upcoming film. Some o those have been leaking online.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. The Russos directed the film from a script by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.
