THE WALKING DEAD's Scott Deckert Joins VENOM

The last thing we heard about Venom was a rumor that Woody Harrelson would be playing Carnage. That would be pretty cool, but we don’t have a confirmation and a new name has been cast: Scott Deckert. The Walking Dead fans will recognize Deckert as John from season eight. No information has been revealed as to what character he will play, but as Tom Hardy has confirmed the film is based off the 1993 mini-series Venom: Lethal Protector, there’s a possibility he could be one of the symbiotes created by the Life Foundation. I know the first trailer was disappointing. However, I am choosing to be optimistic about the movie and hope that trailer two is better.

Hardy will star as Eddie Brock/Venom, Harrelson will be playing an undisclosed character, Michelle Williams will be the DA and most likely Hardy’s love interest, Jenny Slate will play a scientist, and Riz Ahmed will be a “popular Marvel character.” Venom is directed by Ruben Fleischer and the script was written by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner.

Venom will be released to theaters October 5, 2018.
