THE X-FILES: ALBUQUERQUE Animated Series Is Not Moving Forward
A few years ago it was announced that Chris Carter was developing an X-Files animated series titled The X-Files: Albuquerque. I was actually kind of excited to see the show come to fruition, but unfortunately, it’s no longer moving forward at Fox.
The news comes not long after Carter revealed that Black Panther and Creed director Ryan Coogler was developing a live-action X-Files series of his own. It was explained that the series will feature a diverse cast.
As for the animated series, it was going to revolve around an “office full of misfit agents who investigate X-Files cases too wacky, ridiculous or downright dopey for Mulder and Scully to bother with.” It’s explained that these agents are basically the X-Files’ B-team.
The project was being developed by Rocky Russo and Jeremy Sosenko, as writers and executive producers. Carter was attached as an executive producer.
I’m bummed out that this show isn’t happening. It could’ve been fun! Oh well, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what Coogler has got up his sleeve for his series.
