Thomas Haden Church Has Heard Rumors That Sam Raimi is Going To Direct a New SPIDER-MAN Film with Tobey Maguire

After Spider-Man: No Way Home was released and fans got to see Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield back as their versions of Spider-Man, fans wanted to see their stories continue. The excitement surrounding these characters exploded with that movie, and it would be such a shame to not explore them further after reintroducing them in the MCU.

There’s been no info revealed on if Marvel and Sony Pictures have plans for these characters in the future of the franchise, but Spider-Man 3 star Thomas Haden Church recently told CB that he’s heard rumors that Sam Raimi is going to direct a new Spider-Man movie with Tobey Maguire! Here’s what he said:

"There's always been some kind of…I've heard rumors…that Sam Raimi was going to do another [Spider-Man movie] with Tobey [Maguire] and if that happens, I would probably campaign to maybe at least do a cameo.”

Now, there’s been no official announcement, but it sure would be cool if what Church has heard ends up being true! I would love nothing more than to see Raimi and Maguire team back up for a new Spider-Man movie!

Raimi was previously asked about the possibility of working with Maguire again in another Spider-Man movie after the character appeared Spider-Man: No Way Home. Raimi said: "I didn't think it was possible but after jumping back in with the multiverse, I realized that anything is possible now so I'm completely open to it."

In another conversation, the director talked about how much he would love to work with Maguire again, saying, "I've come to realize after making Doctor Strange that anything is possible, really anything in the Marvel universe, any team-ups," Raimi said when asked about another possible Spider-Man sequel. "I love Tobey. I love Kirsten Dunst. I think all things are possible. I don't really have a story or a plan. I don't know if Marvel would be interested in that right now. I don't know what their thoughts are about that. I haven't really pursued that. But it sounds beautiful. Even if it wasn't a Spider-Man movie, I'd love to work with Tobey again, in a different role."

Would you like to see Raimi and Maguire team up to make a new Spider-Man movie? Do you think there is any truth to this rumor?
