Title Revealed For Fourth Film in THE CONJURING Horror Franchise
The supernatural adventures of Ed and Lorraine Warren will continue in a fourth film in The Conjuring horror franchise. The film was confirmed at CinemaCon, and the title of the film has been revealed to be The Conjuring: Last Rites.
This next chapter in the series will once again be written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who previously wrote the screenplays for the last two installments. There’s no word yet on who will be directing, but the franchise creator, James Wan will produce alongside Peter Safran.
It was also revealed that Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will, once again, be reprising their roles as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.
As of right now, there are no story details to share, but Wan previously said in an interview that this film might wrap on the the Warren’s story:
“Yeah, we are working on it right now. With the Conjuring films, we are very precious about [them]. And so we kind of want to just take our time to make sure we get it right and to make sure the emotion of the Warren stories that we want to tell, and moving into, and potentially wrapping up, we just want to make sure that it’s the right thing, the right story that we’re telling.”
But, it was recently announced that there was a Conjuring series in development for HBO’s MAX streaming series. The show is said to “continue the story established in the feature films,” but no other details were shared. I hope The Conjuring: Last Rites isn’t the final film in the franchise! I just enjoy watching these movies too much!
