Wesley Snipes’ Blade Reportedly To Return One Last Time in an Upcoming AVENGERS Movie
Wesley Snipes caught everyone off guard when he suited back up as Blade in Deadpool & Wolverine, giving Marvel fans a moment they honestly didn’t think they’d ever see.
Now it sounds like that surprise appearance wasn’t the end of the road. A new report suggests Snipes’ iconic vampire hunter may be stepping back into the Marvel spotlight for one more major MCU event.
According to insider The Beyond Reporter, Snipes is expected to return as Blade “one last time,” with the character reportedly set to appear in either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars.
Nothing has been confirmed by Marvel Studios yet, but given the multiverse-heavy scope of both films, Blade showing up to throw down alongside the Avengers doesn’t feel far-fetched at all.
Snipes originally brought Blade to life in the early 2000s trilogy, helping pave the way for modern comic book movies long before the MCU was even a thing. His recent return in Deadpool & Wolverine leaned hard into that legacy, poking fun at the long and messy development history surrounding Blade’s future in the MCU.
Marvel announced a new Blade solo film back in 2019, but recent reports indicate that project has been scrapped. Instead, the character may resurface in a different form, potentially as part of a Midnight Sons-style team-up.
If Blade does show up, he’ll be joining an absolutely massive cast. Marvel has already confirmed appearances from Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Letitia Wright as Shuri, and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man.
The roster doesn’t stop there. Also on deck are Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.
Several classic X-Men actors are also returning. Patrick Stewart reprises Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen returns as Magneto, Alan Cumming is back as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum will retunr as Gambit.
Whether Blade’s role ends up being a quick multiverse cameo or something more substantial, the idea of Snipes sharing the screen with this lineup is pretty wild. After decades of Marvel history, giving Blade one final ride alongside the Avengers feels like a cool moment fans didn’t know they needed.
Avengers: Doomsday is currently set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars follows a year later on December 17, 2026.
