Zack Snyder Teases His Next Surprise Film Project Saying He Doesn't Want It to Be a "Visual Effects Extravaganza"
Zack Snyder has been playing in his sci-fi universe of Rebel Moon for several years, but after Rebel Moon: The Scargiver is released, he's looking to do something very different with his next project.
The filmmaker has talked about several possible film projects in the past that he’d like to make including his King Arthur project, a more grounded film called Horse Latitudes which is a micro-budget movie about a photographer and a soldier in South America, and there’s that 300: Blood and Ashes project that he’s been talking about.
While talking to Games Radar, Snyder opened up about what his next film project might be saying: "Illusions is also one of those movies," referring to an adaptation of Richard Bach's novel Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah.
He then said his next film will be a surprise and that he wants to do something that’s not a visual effects extravaganza: "It could be one of those, I don't want to say exactly, because it's going to be a bit of a surprise. I really wanted to do something that's not a visual effects extravaganza, just because I'd like to just do something a little grounded.”
He continued: “Horse Latitudes is a perfect example of that, it's much more just like a movie we can go film. I know that sounds, like, 'Isn't that every movie?' But a movie like this [Rebel Moon], there's nothing for free. There's nothing to film unless you build it. So, it'd be nice to not have to do that."
I would actually like to see Snyder do a film that is more grounded, something that relies on the strength of the story rather than the big epic visual effects.
It’ll be interesting to see what Snyder chooses to do as his next film project. Which of these films would you want to see Snyder take on next?
