Cillian Murphy Rumored to Be Marvel's Top Choice for Doctor Doom in FANTASTIC FOUR
The casting rumors for Marvel’s Fantastic Four won’t stop! This latest rumor comes from Hollywood insider MTTSH, and he claims that Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer, Batman Begins, Inception) is now the studio's top choice to take on the villainous role of Doctor Doom in the movie.
Mads Mikkelsen was also rumored to be up for the role, but that casting didn’t really make much sense as he’s already played a villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kaecilius in Doctor Strange. Other rumors have claimed that Ryan Gosling, Josh Hartnett, Ralph Fiennes, and Jason Clarke are on the list of possible actors.
Murphy has been a fan-favorite choice for the role for a long time, so if he actually ends up landing the role, and lot of fans will be happy. He really would be awesome in the role, but the villain is not expected to have a big role in the reboot, and there’s a chance he may only show up in the post-credits scene. But, whatever his role in the film will be, Doom will be built up as one of the new big villains in the MCU.
What do you think about the possibility of Murphy being cast in the role of Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four?
The other casting reports have come through saying that Pedro Pascal would take on the role of Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic, Venessa Kirby (Napoleon) would play Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman, along with Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) as Ben Grimm aka the Thing. Then there’s Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queens Gambit, The New Mutants) who is said to be in the running for a mystery villain role.
Fantastic Four will be directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision) from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, who was brought in to re-write the script originally written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.
As a project in Phase Six of the MCU, Fantastic Four is scheduled to be released on May 2, 2025.
