Daisy Ridley Wants Finn to Become a Jedi in Her Upcoming STAR WARS Movie

We don’t really know anything that is being planned for Daisy Ridley’s upcoming Rey Skywalker movie. It’s at the point where all Star Wars fans can do is speculate about what might happen.

The film has a couple of different rumored titles, but the one that seems to have stuck for now is Star Wars: New Jedi Order, and with a Jedi Order comes a group of new Jedi who are in the process of learning the ways of the Force.

The big question is, who will these Jedi characters be? A lot of Star Wars fans thought that John Boyega’s character Finn would end up being a Jedi in the sequel trilogy, but instead, the character ended up getting sidelined and his character arc fizzled out. This is something that the actor was very disappointed with.

There have been rumors, though, that Boyega could return for this new movie, and during an interview with Screenrant, Ridley was asked if Finn could finally become a Jedi in the film if he returns, and she responded: “That is above my pay grade.”

She laughed and continued: “I would love to see that, but that is not a decision for me.” While she isn’t anyone who has the power to make those decisions at Lucasfilm, she hopes to see what a lot of fans have wanted.

It would make complete sense to bring Finn back for this Star Wars project, but we’ll just have to wait and see what Lucasfilm is going to run with.

A few years ago a fan asked Boyega if he would be interested in returning to the franchise and he responded with: "Lol, no thank you. I’ve moved on." In another reply, Boyega said, "Not into playing one role for too long. I have more to offer than that."

The Rey Skywalker movie is being directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy from a script written by Steven Knight. The movie will be set fifteen years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. All we know about the story so far is that Rey will be a "powerful Jedi master" running her own training academy.

Ridley previously said the new story is “not what I expected,” and “something very special,” and she has recently mentioned that the whole idea for the picture is “cool as shit.”
