DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Just Days Away From Starting Production Again and Episode Count May Change
The Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again is just days away from starting production a second time around. The series stars and crew had been ready to go just ahead of last year’s strikes that took writers and then actors away from their jobs and out onto the picket lines. It halted a lot of productions, but things are getting back to normal, and Daredevil fans can rest assured that the series is on its way to us, officially.
In a recent interview with ComicBook, the show’s villainous star, Vincent D’Onofrio, confirmed the news, saying, “We're days away from restarting Daredevil, so that's that's we're about to plunge into a lot of work.” He also says the series will film entirely in New York whether it's on practical sets or on a sound stage. "We're shooting in New York, in the studio and on locations here. Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Chelsea. Stuff like that."
The actor also said the episode count may change: "The amount of episodes keeps fluctuating, so I don't really know the number that we're at right now. But it seems like there are a few shows that could work with more episodes, then some that just need eight or 10 or six. Echo is like five."
The actor has nothing but great things to say of the show's recent creative overhaul, who saw a new showrunner take the reins to the show. Moon Knight directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are also directing all new episodes of the show.
Charlie Cox will return to the role of Matt Murdock aka Daredevil in the series, and he’ll be joined by Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, and Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk. The cast also includes Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston, Arty Froushan, and Clark Johnson in undisclosed roles. Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson will reportedly reprise their roles of Foggy Nelson and Karen Page in the series as well.
The series is due to hit Disney+ in 2025.
