DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Synopsis; Charlie Cox Teases "Dark, Intense" Series and F-Bombs

An official synopsis for Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again was shared during New York Comic-Con this past weekend, and series star Charlie Cox teases the dark tone of the series. The official synopsis reads:

“In Marvel Television's Daredevil: Born Again, Matt Murdock (Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.

During an interview with Collider, Cox revealed that Daredevil will drop an F-bomb in the show, and said: "It was shocking to me. It's almost under my breath, but you can hear it. I was like, 'Oh wow. Great!' Good to know for Season 2."

He went on to talk about the tone, saying: "We're continuing the darkness of the first series on Netflix. It is gonna be that dark and that intense. We worked our butts off to make it that way. So, we're excited about it because of that.

“As far as I'm concerned, the biggest question that I get asked the most is, is it gonna be dark like the original series? And the answer to that is a definite yes. It is dark. It is crazy. We do some things that are definitely a first for Disney+."

Producer Brad Winderbaum, previously teased some of the action in the series saying: “I’ll tell you, some of the most brutal action we’ve ever brought to the screen is coming in Daredevil: Born Again, which isn’t a horror show, but really it packs a lot of power and there’s a lot of visceral action, to say the least.”

Daredevil: Born Again catches up with Matt Murdock, “a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, and his nemesis, Wilson Fisk, who’s pursuing his own political endeavors in New York.”

Winderbaum previously compared the show to X-Men ‘97: "Daredevil is incredible. It's similar in some ways to X-Men '97 because it's reviving something that the fans love. But it's taking it in a new direction.”

He went on to tease how things have changed, saying: "These characters have matured, the universe is different than it was. Things have changed, society's changed. Matt and Wilson have changed.

“And their characters are gonna collide in ways we've never seen before. It's no longer enough to try to murder each other. There's a whole game of politics at play."

Daredevil: Born Again is currently being developed by directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who worked on both Moon Knight and Loki.

The series also stars Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, and Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Marianna-Fisk.

The cast also includes Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Jeremy Earl, and more.

Daredevil: Born Again is set to arrive on Disney+ on March 4th, 2025.
