DEADPOOL 3 is Likely Delayed as Its Been Removed From Disney's Calendar
It looks like the release of Marvel’s Deadpool 3 will be delayed, which really isn’t a surprise, with the writers’ and actors’ strikes going on, a lot of film releases are going to get delayed because they’ve all had to stop production.
During a recent call with investors yesterday, Disney presented several of their big, upcoming movie plans and Deadpool 3 was not one of the films included on their calendar. It had been removed, which likely means the release date will be pushed back.
The film was supposed to be released on May 3, 2024. Disney didn’t comment on the change yesterday and no one asked about it during the call. The production was pushing through the writers’ strike, but when the actors went on strike there was no choice but to shut down production.
In the end, this might be a good thing for the movie because once the strikes are over, everyone will be able to work at full capacity, and Ryan Reynolds will be able to improvise again and inject some rewrites into the production.
You can see the calendar release schedule below:
It was previously confirmed that Jennifer Garner will return as Elektra in the movie and there are reports that several other X-Men characters could appear such as Halle Berry as Storm, Famke Janssen as Jean Grey, and James Marsden returning to play Cyclops! There are also reports that Ben Affleck will be showing up in the movie as Daredevil and Channing Tatum appearing as Gambit. It was also previously reported that Deadpool 3 will feature more than two variants of Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and two variants of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
The movie is being directed by Shawn Levy, and the movie also stars Emma Corrin as the villain, Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic as Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen in an unknown role, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al.
