First Reactions to Marvel's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 Call It Sad, Dark, Brilliant, Funny, and Perfect
The first reactions to Marvel’s highly anticipated film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 have hit social media, and as expected, when we go see this movie, it sounds like we are going to need to bring a box of tissues with us.
The movie is described as being emotional and heart-wrenching as weil as the darkest and saddest MCU film that’s been made. But, the movie is also said to be hilarious, fun, and a “brilliant end to a brilliant trilogy.” There’s also a lot of praise of Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock, which is cool to hear!
It seems like director James Gunn brought his A-game to this movie, and that fans of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise are to love what it delivers and how it brings a close to these lovable misfit MCU characters. But, it’s not going to be an easy last ride for us either. This one is going to hurt a little bit.
Check out some of the reviews below and tell us what you think!
Translation: "Despite the humor #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 is probably the saddest & darkest MCU film & a wonderfully rounded conclusion to Gunn's trilogy, where everyone in the fight against a mean (but rather shallow) villain gets their big moment again. Have tissues ready!"
Translation: "It has spectacular action set pieces, is fun, entertaining, and emotional. It is a perfect and beautiful closure for its characters and the saga. And it's the best Marvel movie since Endgame (and Top3 in general)."
In a recent interview with Gunn, he explained that this next chapter of the story is “not about saving the universe – it’s about the Guardians saving themselves.” I love that about this story.
In Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere. But it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life—a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin/on-set Rocket, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, and Vin Diesel as Groot. New additions to the cast also include Will Poulter as Adam Warlock and Chukwudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary as well as Daniela Melchior, Nico Santos, and Borat Subsequent Moviefilm's Maria Bakalova as Cosmo the Spacedog.
Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 opens in U.S. theaters on May 5.
