J.K. Simmons Knows Everything About GHOSTBUSTERS 3, But Obviously He Won't Say Anything

J.K. Simmons has worked with director Jason Reitman regularly over the years so it makes sense that they would talk about their upcoming projects. While the announcement of Ghostbusters 3 was a huge surprise for us, it wasn’t a surprise for Simmons.

The actor already knew the film was coming and in a recent interview with ET, he teased that he knows everything about the upcoming Ghostbusters film. In regards to that, he says:

"Which is hilarious, of course, and brilliant. Now I can talk about it. I can't wait. I can't wait to see what he's gonna do with it.”

The actor then teased:

"I can tell you absolutely nothing. I know everything but I'm just not telling you.”

It’s already been reported that the characters in the story will consist of two boys and two girls from the ages of 12 to 13. If you want to read up on some of the character details and rumored plot of the film, you can click here. The original cast is also said to be coming back to reprise their roles. Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard is also being eyed for a lead role with Carrie Coon.

When previously talking about the project, Reitman said:

“I’ve always thought of myself as the first Ghostbusters fan, when I was a six-year-old visiting the set. I wanted to make a movie for all the other fans. This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day.”

He added:

“This is very early, and I want the film to unwrap like a present. We have a lot of wonderful surprises and new characters for the audience to meet."

Reitman also said that Ghostbusters 3 will be a love letter to the original film and he plans to start shooting it this summer for a 2020 release. I can’t wait to learn more about the film. I imagine that Simmons will end up having a role in it.
