Kevin Feige Confirms All the FANTASTIC 4 Characters "Go Right into the Next Avengers Movies"
Kevin Feige recently offered an update on the production of the Matt Shakman-directed The Fantastic 4: First Steps, and he also confirmed that all of those characters from the film will be in the "next Avengers movies."
Feige said at the Disney APAC Content Showcase: “Finally, [we’re] bringing Marvel’s First Family into the MCU. They wrap next week, the movie comes out next summer, and then all those characters go right into the next Avengers movies, so I’m very excited for the future of the Fantastic Four.”
It’s good to hear that these characters are going to have a big part to play in the future of the MCU. It was previously teased at Comic-Con this past summer that the main members of both the Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts would be part of the cast of both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Robert Downey Jr. will also have a big part in these films as he is set to play the big bad villain Doctor Doom, who is Reed Richards’ arch enemy.
The Fantastic 4: First Steps is “set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios' 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet.
“Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.”
The movie is set for release on July 25, 2025. As for Avengers: Doomsday, it will be hitting theaters on May 1, 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars will follow a year later on May 7, 2027.
Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo will be returning to helm both projects.
