LOKI Creator Michael Waldron Set to Write AVENGERS: THE KANG DYNASTY
The creator of Marvel’s Loki series, Michael Waldron, has been officially hired to write Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Waldron was already set to write Avengers: Secret Wars, so it seems to make sense that he would also write the film that will lead in to that.
Not only has Waldron worked on Loki for Marvel, he also wrote the script for Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness. Kevin Feige seems to really rust Waldon as he also hired the writer to write his now-scrapped Star Wars movie.
It was recently rumored that Sam Raimi was being looked at as a possible director for the two Avengers movies after Destin Daniel Cretton dropped out. Raimi also has experience working with Waldron with the Doctor Strange sequel. Maybe they’ll be teaming back up.
When previous screenwriter Jeff Loveness left the project, it was reported that Marvel Studios was moving away from the whole Kang the Conqueror storyline. If this is really the case, then we can expect the title of the movie to change. But, who knows, maybe they’ll actually attempt to continue the whole Kang story arc.
Avengers: Kang Dynasty is dated to be released on May 1, 2026, which gives Waldron and Marvel more then enough time to figure things out. The movie will precede Avengers: Secret Wars which will be released on May 7, 2027.
