New Details for THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU Reveal Film's Possible Lead Villain and Who Will Play Him
Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian & Grogu is shaping up to be a major event for the franchise, transitioning the awesome Disney+ series to the big screen for the first time.
Originally planned as the fourth season of The Mandalorian, Disney opted to make it a theatrical release, marking the first Star Wars movie since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker.
The film has got fans excited, especially with the addition of Sigourney Weaver in a mysterious role and Jeremy Allen White taking on the role of Rotta the Hutt.
But now, insider Kristian Harloff has revealed some new information about the lead villain in the film… Embo, which is a fan-favorite bounty hunter from The Clone Wars.
Embo is a Kyuzo bounty hunter known for his bowcaster and iconic circular hat (which doubles as a weapon and shield), will reportedly play a central role in the film.
According to Harloff, Embo is tasked with hunting down Rotta the Hutt, who has been kidnapped. Meanwhile, Din Djarin and Grogu are hired to rescue Rotta, and that will set the stage for an exciting showdown.
Dave Filoni will also return to voice the character Embo. As you know, Filoni was a driving force behind The Clone Wars and The Mandalorian, and it’s great to learn that he’ll be voicing the character again.
Embo is known for his unmatched skill and mysterious presence. He’s worked for the Hutt Clans, battled Maul’s Shadow Collective, and fought alongside legendary bounty hunters like Bossk and Boba Fett.
After the Battle of Jakku, Embo retired to a quieter life as a farmer on Felucia, but it seems the bounty on Rotta is enough to lure him back into action.
Jon Favreau, who co-wrote the screenplay with Filoni and is directing the film, shared his excitement about the project when the film was announced, saying:
“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created. The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”
With Favreau and Filoni at the helm, The Mandalorian & Grogu promises to deliver a cinematic Star Wars adventure on the big screen that fans have been waiting for.
