Pedro Pascal on Reed Richards’ Bedroom Skills in THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS: “Everything Has to Stretch”
Pedro Pascal is looking great as Reed Richards in Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but while we’re still waiting for a proper glimpse of him showing off his stretching powers, Pascal has given fans a very different kind of preview that will raise a few eyebrows and get a lot of laughs.
During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kimmel couldn't help but bring up a rather personal question about Mister Fantastic. Specifically, how Reed’s powers might come into play when he and Sue Storm (a.k.a. the Invisible Woman) are alone together.
Kimmel held up a panel from J. Michael Straczynski’s run on Fantastic Four, pointing out Sue’s compliment about her husband’s “wonderful set of abilities.”
He didn’t have to say much more before Pascal chimed in with a smirk: "Everything has to stretch... He’s an incredible conversationalist in bed."
This is just a great reminder of Pascal’s easy charm and why fans are excited to see him bring this character to life.
The film is expected to introduce Reed and Sue’s son, Franklin Richards, setting up big things down the line in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. But hey, even superheroes are allowed to have some fun.
When asked previously why he joined The Fantastic Four, Pascal said: "Mainly, because of the cast that I would be part of. Matt Shakman, the director, has been a lifelong friend of mine. And because of the influence of the world of Marvel, [it's] authored so much of popular entertainment.
"And to be invited into that experience is something that I couldn't say no to. I love the comic and I love being in a family."
In the film: “Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet.
“Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.”
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released in theaters on July 25, 2025.
