Rey Skywalker Reportedly Will Appear in Multiple New STAR WARS Films; Daisy Ridley's Pay Revealed
Some new information has surfaced for Lucasfilm's planned Star Wars: New Jedi Order movie, which will see Daisy Ridley return to the role of Rey Skywalker. The project is currently in the process of being written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.
Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider has now offered an update on the project in his newsletter, and one of the most interesting details that he shared was that Rey’s return may not be for just one film. Sneider says he’s heard Rey could also factor into Shawn Levy's mysterious Star Wars movie, which he will most likely begin working on when he's done with Deadpool 3.
Sneider goes on to say that he believes that Rey’s movie will be the second big-screen release after The Mandalorian and Grogu, and that it will likely hit in theatres around Christmas 2026. He also says James Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi film will follow in 2027, and Dave Filoni’s New Republic movie could be as far away as 2028.
Ridley’s payday for the film was also revealed, and it’s said that she will make a cool $12.5 million. Sneider also noted on The Hot Mic that New Jedi Order could be set in a different timeline with an older take on Rey. There were earlier reports that claimed that Damon Lindelof wrote a script for that and that the original plan was to cast Helen Mirren, or someone of that status, in the role before Ridley signed on.
We’ll just have to wait and see how things shake out for this film. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will direct the New Jedi Order, which will be set fifteen years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. All we know about the story so far is that Rey will be a "powerful Jedi master" running her own training academy.
