Sam Raimi and Jon Favreau Reportedly Possible Directors of SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Sequel
Marvel and Sony are currently on the hunt for a director to take on the sequel to Spider-Man: No Way Home. Two of the most recent directors mentioned were Justin Lin and Drew Goddard, but now there are other possibilities that have been named to take on the gig.
According to World Of Reel, Sam Raimi (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) is in the running to direct the next Spider-Man movie, and they also say that John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (Game Night, Dungeons & Dragons) and Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Mandalorian) may be possibilities.
It was previously rumored that Raimi is for the Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars movies for Marvel. Maybe he would do all three, though.
As for Favreau, I seriously doubt that he would end up doing it. He’s currently playing in the Star Wars sandbox with The Mandalorian and he’s currently developing The Mandalorian & Grogu movie for Lucasfilm, along with whatever comes after that.
Then there’s John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, which would be great! The two worked on the script for Spider-Man: Homecoming, so they are super familiar with that corner of the Marvel universe.
Sony and Marvel have yet to make an official announcement regarding Spider-Man 4, but the project is in development.
Tom Holland and Zendaya will return to their roles of Peter Parker and MJ, respectively, and the film is expected to start filming later this year, in either September or October.
Who would you like to see jump on board to direct Spider-Man 4?
