SUPERMAN: LEGACY Rumored To Introduce Supergirl; Sasha Calle Will Not Reprise Her Role
Another report has surfaced regarding James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy involving the introduction of another big Superman character. According to reliable inside scooper Daniel Richtman, Supergirl will make her big debut in the movie, but the character will not be played by The Flash star Sasha Calle.
Gunn is bringing a lot of different superhero characters into Superman: Legacy, so it doesn’t seem like it would be too far-fetched to think that Supergirl could show up as well. If she does show up, it will set her up for her solo film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which is currently in development.
As for who will play Supergirl, casting is said to currently be underway. The film currently stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent / Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt / Mr. Terrific, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica, aka The Engineer.
It was also recently announced that Sara Sampaio, the Portuguese Victoria’s Secret model, has been cast as Eve Teschmacher, the assistant and sometimes mistress to the scheming villain Lex Luthor.
Superman: Legacy will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”
Superman: Legacy will launch the movie part of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. It’s scheduled for a theatrical release on July 11, 2025.
