Tom Hiddleston Confirmed To Return as Loki in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY

Marvel Studios has confirmed that Tom Hiddleston is set to reprise his role as Loki in Avengers: Doomsday. It was previously rumored that he could be one of the key elements to the story and the driving force behind the movie.

It was reported that Loki will be the MacGuffin in the story, “The race against Doomsday will be a race to see who gets to Loki first.”

If the these reports are true, the next Avengers movie may revolve around With Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes scrambling to find Loki first, each with their own reasons.

Doom wants more power to carry out his plan, and the Avengers want to stop him. And Loki is the key to the key to holding the multiverse together, as he maintains the Multiverse’s infinite branching timelines, and controlling (or removing) him could unravel reality itself.

Other confirmed cast member include Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Vanessa Kirby’s Invisible Woman/Sue Storm, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright’s Shuri/Black Panther, and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man.

Following that came Wyatt Russell’s U.S. Agent/John Walker, Tenoch Huerta’s Namor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing/Ben Grimm, Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer’s Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast, Lewis Pullman’s Bob/Sentry, Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm/Human Torch, David Harbour’s Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Winston Duke‘s M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen‘s Ghost, and as of posting this, there are more to come.

The film is currently slated to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars following on May 7, 2027.
