TRON: ARES Director Teases New Details For Film in Set Photo
Tron: Ares director Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Kon Tiki) has shared a new photo from the set of the film, which is currently shooting. The photo teases some interesting new details.
The photo was shared on Rønning’s Instagram story, it features the script and a small prop piece. The prop is a convention pass to an Encom event that is tied to a piece of lore from the franchise. Check it out:
This is a pass for Paranoia-Con 27, which confirms that the story will be set in the year 2027. But there’s another detail, the name of the convention is Paranoia-Con, which is obviously tied to Space Paranoids, the video game that was originally created by Kevin Flynn. It seems the game has become a big deal!
I know these are just small details, but I’m really curious about this movie and how the story is going to play out.
The film stars Jared Leto and it follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, “who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.”
The movie also stars Cameron Monaghan (Star Wars Jedi), Evan Peters (WandaVision), Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith (Without Remorse), Greta Lee, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, and Gillian Anderson.
Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne wrote the script. The film is slated for release in 2025.
