Zack Snyder's REBEL MOON Gets a New Look From Empire Magazine
We’ve got a couple of new images to share with you from Zack Snyder’s upcoming sci-fi action thriller Rebel Moon. The images come courtesy of Empire Magazine in the form of a couple of covers. The first image features the mean cast of characters and the second features warrior robot Jimmy, who’s adorned with his antler headdress.
The film was heavily influenced by Star Wars, and the story follows a group of ragtag rebels who rise up to fight against a giant, evil Empire. It’s set in a “peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius. They dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand against the Tyrant.” You can learn several other details about the series here.
There’s a behind the scenes featurette was previously released that you should check that out here offering our best look yet at the movie. We still have yet to see a trailer for the movie, but I imagine that’s going to be coming real soon.
Snyder previously talked about the project, saying: “This is me growing up as an Akira Kurosawa fan, a Star Wars fan. It's my love of sci-fi and a giant adventure. My hope is that this also becomes a massive IP and a universe that can be built out."
This is a two-part film and each part will come with an R-rated edition that fans can watch as well. The movie stars Charlie Hunnam, Ed Skrein, Bae Doona, Djimon Hounsou. Ray Fisher, Jena Malone, Ed Skrein, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman, Anthony Hopkins, and Alfonso Herrera.
Part One of Rebel Moon is scheduled to arrive on Netflix on December 22nd following a limited theatrical release.
