Ryan Reynolds Isn't Allowed to Improvise While Shooting DEADPOOL 3

Deadpool 3 recently kicked off production and is currently shooting, which is actually pretty exciting! Ryan Reynolds is back as Deadpool ,and one of the things that the actor enjoys doing while shooting these films is improvise. Reynolds is so funny and quick-witted and he likes to spit out different funny lines of dialogue while shooting.

Well, it turns out that with Deadpool 3, he’s not allowed to do that. He can’t improvise any line on the set of the film due to the ongoing writer’s strike. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor is considered a writer on the franchise, and because of this, he's not permitted under the strike rules to tweak the film in any way during its shoot.

It’s explained in the report that typically, non-writer directors or producers "can make small adjustments to scripts under the (a) through (h) clause." But with Reynolds' co-writer Shawn Levy helming Deadpool 3, it's unlikely that the finished cut of Deadpool 3 will wind up being any different than what’s in the script that’s been written. They are going to have to stick with that.

I imagine this is going to be rough for Reynolds because Deadpool’s whole thing is making on-the-cuff jokes about things going on around him. There’s a certain kind of energy there, so I just hope that script can capture that wit and energy.

Levy previously teased the R-rated violence and foulness of the film, saying: "We are writing, rewriting, developing, prepping Deadpool every day now. It is such a blast to laugh every day. It is so delicious to hear and write and come up with these scenes where people are just talking foul. And the violence is in your face and hardcore, and it's very much a Deadpool movie."

It’s also been revealed that Wolverine and Deadpool are not going to get along in the movie. Wolverine hates Deadpool, and Jackman previously talked about that, saying: “How do I categorize it? Ten being really close, zero being the reality, we’re zero, we’re opposites, hate each other. I’m just talking from my perspective, [Logan’s] frustrated by him, wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head. Unfortunately, he can’t be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I’m probably going to punch him in the head a lot.”

Reynolds also previously shared some information on a Deadpool and Wolverine plot that was being planned before Disney bought Fox. It “was gonna be a road trip between Deadpool and Logan. Rashomon style. For real.” I hope they still plan on that!

The cast also includes Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Emma Corrin as the villain, Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic as Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen in an unknown role, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al. Then there’s Rob Delaney as Peter.

Deadpool 3 is scheduled for a November 8, 2024 release.
