DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Set Video and Photos Feature the Punisher and Daredevil Teaming Up
A new video and photos have surfaced from the set Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again. These feature Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle / The Punisher teaming up with Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock / Daredevil.
The video shows Daredevil and Punisher walking through what sounds like a hail of bullets, and as they are in this situation, they are keeping their ears closed.
The photos show other shots of these characters along with a first look at Jeremy Earl as Officer Cole North. You’ll see the character sporting The Punisher's logo on his uniform. He’s also wearing a patch that reads, "Anti-Vigilante Task Force - New York City - Mayor Fisk."
It was previously rumored that this next Daredevil series is inspired by the Devil’s Reign storyline from Marvel Comics.
Vincent D'Onofrio previously talked about this aspect of Kingpin’s story: "I think the idea of Fisk as mayor is a big idea, and the, corruption, of course comes to mind. There is a million different ways to play that, and for me to play Wilson Fisk in these different situations is just a blast.”
He continued: “I play him in domestic situations and in this kind of good and evil stuff, and then now I get the chance to play him as mayor. He's a really interesting character to bring into all these kinds of environments and scenarios. He's not a normal guy. And so it gets more specific and detailed because I approach him as a human being in these different environments."
The Devil's Reign storyline explores the power dynamics between Kingpin and the vigilantes who stand up against him. The story revolves around the power struggle between Daredevil and Wilson Fisk, who becomes the Mayor of New York City.
In this arc, Kingpin uses his newfound political influence to launch a crackdown on vigilantes, making their activities illegal. This leads to a fierce confrontation between Daredevil and Kingpin, with the latter using all his resources to hunt down and eliminate Daredevil and his allies.
The series also stars Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk, Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston, Arty Froushan, and Clark Johnson in undisclosed roles. Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson will also reprise their roles of Karen Page and Foggy Nelson. Wilson Bethel is reprising his role as Benjamin Poindexter, aka Bullseye.
Daredevil: Born Again is currently being developed by directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who worked on both Moon Knight and Loki. Dario Scardapane, who worked on Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan as well as Netflix’s Marvel show The Punisher, is the showrunner for the series.
