DEADPOOL 3 Enlists Marvel Comics and ROBOT CHICKEN Writer Zeb Wells To Help With Script

Marvel Studios has enlisted a new writer to help with the script for Deadpool 3. Zeb Wells will be taking a crack at the script that was previously worked on by Bob's Burgers alumni Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin and longtime Deadpool scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

Wells has worked for Marvel Comics in the past with titles like Heroes for Hire, Civil War: Young Avengers/Runaways, various Spider-Man titles, New Mutants, Venom: Dark Origin, and Dark Reign: Elektra, and most recently he took on the lead writer position for The Amazing Spider-Man.

The writer also worked on several TV series projects including Robot Chicken, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and SuperMansion. Wells has had a lot of of writing experience for Marvel and comedy projects and he should make a solid addition to the team.

It's unclear if Wells is writing another draft and if working alongside Reese and Wernick. But, it would make sense if they are all working together to polish up what they’ve currently developed.

When previously talking about the process of developing Deadpool 3, director Shawn Levy said: "We are writing, rewriting, developing, prepping 'Deadpool' every day now. It is such a blast to laugh every day. It is so delicious to hear and write and come up with these scenes where people are just talking foul, and the violence is in your face and hardcore, and it's very much a 'Deadpool' movie. And it has Logan in it. And it has Wolverine in it. It's too fun I'm having so much fun, and I haven't even hit the shooting floor yet. [...] I have to say, developing a 'Deadpool' movie is one of the most fun creative experiences of my life because it's not just that it's rated R. It's that it's so filled with self-awareness, and that makes in-writing very, very fun in a way that is unique to that franchise."

So far, the movie stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Emma Corrin as the villain, and Matthew Macfadyen in an unknown role. Karan Soni and Leslie Uggams will also be back as Dopinder and Blind Al respectively.

Deadpool 3 is set for release on November 8,  2024.
