James Wan Reportedly in the Running to Direct SPIDER-MAN 4 for Marvel and Sony

Another director is rumored to be in the running to direct Spider-Man 4 for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. The director is James Wan, and he would make an interesting choice for the job.

Other directors that have been rumored to be on the list include Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods), Sam Raimi (Spider-Man), Justin Lin (Fast and the Furious franchise), John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein (Dungeons & Dragons), and the highly unlikely Jon Favreau (Iron Man).

The news of Wan was shared by inside scooper MyTimeToShineHello, but there’s no confirmation on if the filmmaker is actually on the list.

Wan is a great filmmaker when it comes to horror, but the Aquaman movies he helmed for DC… in my opinion, not that great. Not sure if superhero films are in his wheelhouse, but maybe he could do something cool with Spider-Man if given the chance.

The scooper also claims that Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, will make her debut in the movie, which isn’t too far-fetched to believe. It makes sense that Marvel and Sony would eventually introduce her to the franchise.

What do you think about the the possibility of Wan directing Spider-Man 4 or Black Cat making her big debut?
