DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Reportedly Bringing Back Karen Page and Foggy Nelson
It looks like two fan-favorite characters from Netflix and Marvel’s Daredevil series might be returning to Daredevil: Born Again after all. According to entertainment insider, Jeff Sneider, Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson will reportedly reprise their roles of Foggy Nelson and Karen Page in the upcoming Marvel series.
There are no details on how big their roles will be in the series, all we know is that they will return in some capacity. This new information has not been confirmed by Marvel, but I hope it’s true! It was previously reported that they wouldn’t return, which kinda bummed me out.
It seems like maybe the new creative team working on retooling the series are making some smart decisions. The played a significant part in the original Netflix series and it completely makes sense that they would be involved with this next Daredevil series.
Woll previously talked about how much she loved playing Karen Page, and the future of the character, saying:
"Look, playing Karen Page was one of the great roles of my career so far. I have such enormous love and respect for her, for myself, for the story that we created together. I think any iteration of Karen that comes back, if she comes back, if it's me, if it's not me, if it's in comic books, if it's in 50 years, whatever it is, I just hope that it continues to honor her. That you're never just the sidekick.
"You might not see the Karen Page story, but she's having a whole TV show on her own that no one filmed. Make sure that, for our characters, who are not superheroes or are not the lead fighter in that way, that we just continue to honor that they have full lives. That's what I really appreciated about my time playing Karen Page, and I would hope that if I got to do it again or if it continues, that people would have the same care for her.
"I'm so proud. I really am. I loved working on that so much, and she's such a cool, cool person. I miss her."
As for what Marvel might be planning for the show, it was previously reported – SPOILER ALERT– that the show might kick off with the death of Henson's Foggy Nelson. Some rumors claimed Karen would also be caught in the crossfire, while others said she doesn't appear at all. It would be a bummer if this was how the characters were handled in the series.
Daredevil: Born Again is currently being developed by directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who worked on both Moon Knight and Loki. Dario Scardapane, who worked on Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan as well as Netflix’s Marvel show The Punisher, is the showrunner for the series.
Charlie Cox will return to the role of Matt Murdock aka Daredevil in the series, and he’ll be joined by Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, and Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk. It also includes Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston, Arty Froushan, and Clark Johnson in undisclosed roles.
What do you hope to see from Karen Page and Foggy Nelson in Daredevil: Born Again?
