Full Trailer Released for YELLOWJACKETS Season 2 - The Darkness Is Coming for Them
Showtime has released a full trailer for Yellowjackets Season 2, giving us our best look yet at the madness that is in store for the next chapter of the story. It looks like it’s going to take fans on quite an entertaining and intense journey as mysteries begin to unfold and the characters are forced to face down a darkness that is coming for them.
Yellowjackets is the saga of “a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.”
The description for Season 2 reads: “The Yellowjackets barely made it through summer, but now as winter begins to bite, we’ll see if hunger and desperation turn into full-on psychosis. Meanwhile, 25 years later, each survivor must determine if the darkness is coming for them or from them.”
The series was created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson (Narcos), and it’s described as being “equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story, and coming-of-age drama.”
The series also stars Christina Ricci, Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Ella Purnell, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Sammi Hanratty, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, and Juliette Lewis. Newcomers include Elijah Wood, as Walter "a new citizen detective”, Lauren Ambrose as the adult version of Van, who you can see photos of here, and Simone Kessell, who will be playing adult Lottie. Jason Ritter also joined the cast.
Yellowjackets will premiere on March 24, 2023. The series showrunner says that they have a five-season plan for this series and that Season 2 is just the tip of the iceberg of what’s coming.
