James Marsden Addresses DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE Cyclops Cameo Reports
As you know, there have been multiple reports about X-Men star James Marsden possibly reprising his role as Scott Summers/Cyclops in Deadpool & Wolverine. Well, the actor recently addressed these rumors during an interview on The Discourse podcast.
When talking about wrapping up his work on the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Marsden said that Deadpool & Wolverine was shooting on the same studio lot in London. He said:
“We were actually near the . . . Deadpool [production] stages up there in Pinewood. Yeah, this is a little . . . bit of a Pandora’s box.”
Marsden then addressed the rumors about the numerous past X-Men actors possibly being involved with the film:
“Yeah, I keep hearing about it; I can’t walk down the street without someone asking me, so evidently, there’s a lot of chatter about that.”
With Deadpool & Wolverine and Sonic shooting on the same studio lot, it sure wouldn’t have been hard for Marsden to shoot some scenes as Cyclops. I think it’s safe to say that we will see Marsden in the film.
In the film, “After facing some professional setbacks while going through a midlife crisis. Wade Wilson decides to officially retire Deadpool and becomes a used car salesman. But when his friends, family, and the whole world are at stake, Deadpool decides to bring his katanas out of retirement. He recruits an unwilling and wary Wolverine to not only fight for their survival, but ultimately, their legacy."
It’s also said: "That f–king irresponsible hero Deadpool will change the history of the MCU with Wolverine!?"
The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Emma Corrin as the villain Cassandra Nova, Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic as Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen in an unknown role, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al. They are joined by Brianna Hildebrand, and Shioli Kutsuna will also return to the franchise as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend Yukio. Rob Delaney will return as Peter and Jennifer Garner will return as Elektra in the movie.
Some of the other rumored casting includes Brian Cox as William Striker, Owen Wilson as Mobius, Lewis Tan as Shatterstar, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Taron Edgerton as a different Wolverine, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, Tara Strong as Miss Minutes, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Dafne Keen as X-23, Rebecca Romijn as Raven, Julian McMahon as Doctor Doom, Liev Schreiber as Sabertooth, Daniel Radcliffe as Wolverine, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Wesley Snipes as Blade, and Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards. Oh, and most recently Henry Cavill as Spoiler.
Deadpool & Wolverine will hit theaters on July 26th!
