Marvel Teases More AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Casting Announcements Could Be Coming
Marvel Studios recently dropped a massive Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal, confirming 27 actors for the highly anticipated crossover event. But even with a lineup packed with major returning stars, there are still some noticeable absences.
Well, based on a cryptic tease from both Marvel and Robert Downey Jr., it looks like the casting news isn’t over yet.
Shortly after the livestream, Downey took to social media, writing: “That’s what u call a deep bench of talent… actually it’s more like a row, but an extra long one… That must be it… right?” Marvel’s official account responded with a knowing tease: “There’s always room for more.”
The Hollywood Reporter also reported that more reveals are expected, saying: “Marvel wasn’t done with revealing the entire cast, although when and how another unveiling will occur was unclear.”
I imagine if there are more casting announcement coming, Marvel will share them at Comic-Con this summer.
With several big players missing from the initial list including Chris Evans’ Captain America, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, it seems like there’s plenty of room for speculation.

It’s going to be really interesting to see who else may end up joinging the cast of the film.
Co-director Joe Russo previously explained what brought him and Anthony Russo back to the MCU, saying: "What's compelling about these two new Avengers movies is they're a beginning. It's a new beginning. We told an ending story, now we're going to tell a beginning story."
As for what their Marvel Studios future looks like beyond that, Joe said, "Who knows where we'll go from there? Maybe it will be another five years. I think we just needed that time and perspective to figure out where it needed to go next and the only thing that brought us back was the right story."
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on May 1, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled to arrive on May 7, 2027.
