The JOHN WICK Spinoff Film BALLERINA Gets a Summer 2024 Release Date

Lionsgate has announced that Ana de ArmasJohn Wick spinoff film Ballerina will be released in theaters on June 7, 2024! Yeah, we’ve got a little over a year to wait, but that’s ok because John Wick: Chapter 4 was recently released in theaters and that will keep fans satisfied. But, when Ballerina does drop, John Wick fans are going to flock to theaters to watch it.

Ballerina is set between John Wick: Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 and it follows a young female assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family — as Wick has against those who have done him wrong. Ana de Armas plays as the assassin, who is “trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma.”

Keanu Reeves is going to appear in the film and when previously talking about it, he said: "It's a cool story. Len Wiseman has a vision, but is also embracing, affectionately, the world of John Wick. Ian McShane is in it as Winston.”

The actor went on to confirm Wick only make a cameo in the movie and said he just "briefly" worked with de Armas. He said: "So I felt that there was a cool handoff of stewardship, and it was fun to put the suit on again, however briefly. There's a reason for [John] to be in Ballerina; it's very organic. And working with Ana was great. She really loves action, and she's really good at it."

Ana de Armas previously talked about working with Reeves in an action scene for the film saying: "We've been in Prague filming for four months. We still have one more month to go. And I'm in pain. My body, my back, everything hurts. I'm complaining, I'm sore, I'm bruised. Bond was fifteen minutes, this is a whole movie, another level. But the other day, Keanu and I were rehearsing our very difficult stunt scene, and this man is just rolling and throwing me and doing these crazy stunts, and I'm like, I can't complain anymore, I'm done. Because he is doing it!"

The movie also stars Anjelica Huston as The Director, Lance Reddick as Charon, and Norman Reedus in a mysterious role.

Ballerina is being directed by Len Wiseman from a screenplay written by Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead) and is being overseen by James Myers for Lionsgate.
