Venkman here - Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! But we all knew it was going to happen. I didn't see the movie thant the gods my wife never watched the show! I saw too many of my friends dragged by the hair by their significant others to that movie. The crazy thing is... they liked it. What!? I know, right? Its crazy! Well Sex and the City made over $146 million dollars thats why there will be a sequel. Here is what EW is reporting:
After months of idle talk, HBO has confirmed that a sequel to the Sex and the City movie is in the early stages of development Michael Lombardo, president of HBO's programming group, told a group of reporters at the cable network's annual press tour in Los Angeles today, "We're really heartened by the fans' enthusiasm. Absolutely, there is a lot of energy behind doing another SATC movie."
This is a film Warner Bros. wants to put on the fast track, but guess what? They have no script. I love how Hollywood greenlights movies without a script! Here is an idea for the title! 'Sex and the City, More Sex, More City' Bam! Sold! Are the actresses even on board yet? Not so much.
the lead actresses involved are taking a cautious attitude towards another film, not wanting to rush a sequel and risk disappointing their loyal fans.
The don't want to disappoint the loyal fans. At least the care. as for me, I could care less. But congrats to the fangirls you got your wish.

Comic-Con 2008 Sunday July 27th Schedule is out!

by Joey Paur +
Venkman here and this is one for the books! Cameron Crowe has written and will be directing a new adventure romantic comedy for Sony Pictures and it is a Sci-Fi Supernatural adventure that takes place on the islands of hawaii? I didn't see that coming but I couldn't be more excited! Resse Witherspoon and Ben Stiller are already attached to star in the film. The script was reviewed by James and Nick over at goneelsewhere.wordpress.com. This movie sounds crazy! I never thoought he would end up doing a movie like this but I like where he is going. Here are a couple things that James and Nick had to say about it:
Nick - What genre would the film fall into? James - Variety's description of "adventure comedy" is correct. "Tropical romantic adventure comedy with light sci-fi and heavy supernatural aspects" is better. Nick - How would you describe the plot? James - A man, close to middle age, having problems with women. Semi-successful, but doesn't know what to do with his life. Has crisis. Meets old flame. Had problems with her. Meets new, exciting, woman. Has problems with her. They're all on Hawaii. Hijinks ensue. You guess the rest.
Now heres where it gets crazy:
Nick - And if you were writing a detailed press release? James - Brian Gilcrest, 37, is a military contractor for the US Army. He hasn't done many things right in life. He's married the wrong women, broke up with the only good one and most people don't like him. His only friend is a military techie named Jeremy who lives in the caves of the Cheyenne Mountains who he's only spoken with on the phone. Brian is an angry man, but he learns that this doesn't bother him. He's just relieved that he doesn't have to pretend to be anything else. Unfortunately, this has also killed his career. However, Gilcrest soon gets a shot at redemption thanks to escalating tensions between the United States and China. The military needs him to set up the launch of a private satellite at his old stomping grounds in Hawaii. There, Gilcrest gets a chance to meet up with "the one who got away", Tracy, her kids and her new husband. He also meets the designated liasion officer for the mission, Major Lisa Ng. Together these two must secure the blessings of the native Hawaiian council and see that the launch happens on schedule. If only they weren't haunted by visions of Hawaiian ghosts in green mists, mistaken for incarnations of the Hawaiian gods Lono and Pele, and prophesied to bring about the Arrival... whatever that is. Oh, and they have to toss a sacrifice into an erupting volcano.
Holy crap! A sacrifice into a volcano! This just sounds over the top! Again I can't believe he is doing this kind of movie. Here is the guy that brought us 'Say Anything', 'Almost Famous', and 'Jerry McGuire'. This just doesn't fit his slate or style! Sure he did 'Vanilla Sky' but that was a remake and not a very good one. But this Untitled Cameron Crowe movie... this sounds great. I honestly can not wait to see what becomes of this film. You have to read the rest of this script review which you can find RIGHT HERE.

Cameron Crowes new movie a Sci-Fi Supernatural Adventure!?

by Joey Paur +
Hellboy II: The Golden Army was entertaining as hell! It was a blast to watch the big red brute beat the living crap out of the bad guys again! I really liked the first Hellboy movie but I loved this sequel! As great as the first one was this film was much better. Guillermo del Toro was at the top of his game with this one. He knew exactly what the audience wanted to see and put it up on screen.Hellboy II: The Golden Army starts out with a fairy tale story being told to a crazy and awkward looking young Hellboy. The fairy tale being told is the story of The Golden Army and how they came to be. I loved the style this little story was told in, it was very cool. As the movie moves on we then find out that Hellboys relationship with Liz is a bit rocky. Being married I can totally relate to what Hellboy and Liz are going through. I think that most couples in a serious relationship eventually hit the point where they are at in the film. This relationship story plays out through the whole film. The Story of Hellboy II is as solid as can get. Like I said it is built around Hellboy and Liz's relationship. It crazy because this amazingly awesome action packed movie is built around a chick flick. No joke! But I love it! It gives the movie a great heart and there is a lot of feeling and emotion to it. There are no holes in the film that need to be filled. I love that this is a stand alone film and that you didn't really need to see the first one to understand what is going on. One of my favorite scene is when Hellboy saves a baby from being crusshed in a car by a giant ass green plant which helboy ends up fighting and at the same time trying to handle the baby. It was just an all out crazy scene full of fun. The action and fight scenes in this movie were so fun and so cool to watch. The fight choreography was executed so well. The special effects and production design are brilliant. I love the colors and the settings that were used. The tone that was set was awesome. I love Guillermo's mix of practical and CGI effects, they blend seamlessly. I love the use of practical effects in this movie! Technology has come so far with how they can be used, and they have a texture and feel that CG just can't accomplish yet. I can't help but imagine what Guillermo has planned for ‘The Hobbit'! The acting was great! Ron Perlman as Hellboy is so fun to watch in this film! I just love how cool he is. He's got some great one liners. Selma Blair is also great in her role as Liz. I love the effects of Liz when she is on fire it just looks great! Doug Jones as Abe, and Luke Goss, and Anna Walton were all very good. Seth McFarlane as Johann Kraus was a nice interesting character that I enjoyed. I would think it would be hard to act serious in a movie like this, but everyone did a fantastic job. As for Guillermo del Toro's directing... amazing. I love his attention to detail and all the little things he puts in. The way he plays with his music choices is great as well. The guy knows what he is doing and you can tell he had a blast doing it. It really shows in his filmmaking. He is going to end up doing some great films in the future. Hellboy II: The Golden Army was an incredibly exciting and well made film! If you are a fan of the comics, if your not a fan of the comics, a boy or a girl, a woman or a man, you are going to like this movie. If you don't like it then you must not like good movies. Whatever movie you choose to see always remember to enjoy your time ant the movies! -Dr. Venkamn

Dr. Venkman Reviews: Hellboy II: The Golden Army

by Joey Paur +
It was only a matter of time before WB and DC got together to talk about how they can catch up with Marvel in the Comic Book movie business. They have such a huge library of super hero's to choose from! So what have they been discussing? According to Variety:
Warners and sibling DC Comics are holding high-level talks to hammer out a master strategy for their stable of superheroes. Warners has never had such a strategy, and there have long been complaints the studio has been slow to exploit a potential treasure trove of franchises. And while the studio is basking in critical love for "The Dark Knight," it has watched studio rivals rake in big bucks from Marvel Comics characters, and Marvel itself get into the tentpole business.
It is just crazy that no one at WB or DC got together to discuss something like this a long time ago! They had the power before Marvel did so why didn't they do anything about it before? Is it too late to repent? Will the movies they do be any good? The reinventing of Batman with Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale is the smartest move they ever made.  Look at everything they have! look at their library and guess what WB has nothing to show us based on the classic DC universe at Comic Con this year. yes they have 'Watchman' which I can't wait to see but thats not really part of the DC Universe that we are talking about here. There are a few scripts floating around though:
Warner has scripts it likes for "Justice League: Mortal," which teams up classic DC characters, and "Green Lantern." "Justice League" was close to getting a greenlight until the writers strike hit, and "Green Lantern" has gained heat lately.
'Green Lantern' has Greg Berlanti set to write and direct. Other DC movies that have been set to develop are Joel Silvers 'Wonder Woman' which has been in development for a long ass time, 'The Flash' with David Dobkin set to direct and then rumors of 'Auquaman', which in my opinion should never happen. And then their is David Goyer's Green Arrow 'Supermax' movie that I am really looking forward to. Who knows what will happen to all of these projects after these secret meetings WB and DC take place. They are not talking about anything discussed in the meetings to the outside world, but they have released a statement:
"We're constantly looking at how best to exploit the DC Comics characters and properties."
They would be smart to follow Marvels lead and tie together the DC universe in their movies! Thats what the fans want to see! Marvel has done a great job so far and I am sure they will keep it up. WB and DC really need to care for these superhero properties. And when they start making these movies they better be the same quality or better than what the Dark Knight is going to be. Cheap ass movies like 'Catwoman' won't cut it anymore. Marvel has set the bar for comic book movies anything below that is a crime, who knows 'Batman: Dark Knight' may set a new bar.  I hope the meetings that they are having pays off for them and the fans. We can only hope the people involved will end up making some smart decisions. I am excited to see what WB and DC will end up doing to bring the classic superheros from DC to life. -Dr. Venkman Here are some of DC's Heros and Villian's we could possibly see in the movies!

Ok all you 'Twilight' fans out there here is your first liook at Entertainment Weeklys new cover featuring the 2 main characters from 'Twilight'. From what I gather, the book is about a dreamy Vampire and a regular human high school girl that fall in love with each other. My wife has been reading the books recently and all I hear about is how sweet and amazing this vampire guy is. There is no reason to be jealous though, because we all know that real vampires are evil sons of bitches that will stop at nothing to kill and drink the blood of their victims. You know whats funny about all that though? If I were to tell my wife how hot Kate Bekinsale was in Underworld as a vimpire, she would probably get pissed at me. Check out the EW cover! And below that is a picture of Kate Beckinsdale just for the hell of it. One thing we can all agree on is that vampires are pale.

This is great news! After everything us fanboys and fangirls had to endure. There was so much talk from both ends on Iron man 2 we have heard some great things from marvel and Jon but we just wern't sure if they were going to team up for the sequel. I mean back in our minds we new it would all work out in the end but until its official ya never know, it still has not been officially announced. So congratulations to Jon Favreau and Marvel for hitting it off once again and making all the fans of the first Iron Man incredibly happy! Now here is where I am going to Rant. I found this exclusive news on deadlinehollywooddaily.com, and the exlusive news and article was written by a Nikki Finke and this person is an idiot: here is the article:
EXCLUSIVE: It's not officially announced yet, but I'm told that Marvel Studios and Iron Man director Jon Favreau have reached a deal for him to helm the sequel, due out in 2010. (Robert Downey Jr had a sequel clause in his contract so he's on board.) Marvel Studios boss David Maisel was quick to put out a "definitely" richer offer to Favreau, but not quick enough for Jon -- who used the Internet and other media to rile up the movie's many fans by spreading nonsense that Marvel was dragging its feet and then lowballing him. Granted Maisel is no day at the beach himself, but, seriously, could Favreau have been more of an asshole?
Did this person just call Jon Favreau an asshole?! I think so. Nikki! look at you being all kinds of an asshole! Here is a person that does not know Jon or David Maisel and has no clue what the real story was behind everything that went down.  Some studios tend to drag their feet especially if they had a lot going on with Hulk movie at the time, and Jon even recognized that. It no surprise either that the talent asks for more money, I mean the guy made an amazing film and helped Marvel establish itself. They then reach an agreement. Its called negotiations. This happens all the time in Hollywood it is just the way it works, The fans wanted to know what was going on and Jon told them everything that he could, he seemed just as confused as everyone else, he wants to direct Iron Man 2 just as much as the fans want him to! Maybe even more. The guy isn't going to burn his connections and ruin his relationship with Marvel! In fact had he done so, Marvel probably would have moved on without him! If Jon is an asshole like you say he is, he wouldn't be signed on to direct Iron Man 2 you moron. Hey Nikki! You'll keep your mouth shut if you know what s good for ya. See, now I'm the asshole! Anyway! Iron Man 2 is rolling forward with Jon Favearu in the directing chair, so lets all rejoyce and celebrate this happy occasion. -Dr. Venkman

'Max Payne' Trailer Is Great!

Wow it actually happened! Robert Downey Jr. is set to play Sherlock Holmes in Guy Ritchies 'Sherlock Holmes' movie that is going down over at Warner Bros! How about them apples! Here is what Variety Reports:
Downey committed to the pic, which begins shooting in October, after Ritchie turned in a polish of a script written by Anthony Peckham. Lionel Wigram and Dan Lin are producing with Susan Downey and Joel Silver will be executive producer. Much the way that "Iron Man" launched Downey as an action star, "Sherlock Holmes" will also take advantage of his physical skills as the character displays brawn as well as brains.
Well, the script must have been good for Robert to sign on the dotted line. This is great news! This will be Robert's first acting gig since Iron Man. Not a bad choice. So far things are shaping up really nice for this movie. Guy Ritchie has got 'RocknRolla' opening up soon and it looks like its gonna be a great film hopefully his name picks back up some Buzz as a director. As for Robert being in the film that might just be Buzz enough to get the audience into the theaters.  Venkman Out!

But not by me damn it! I wish I could get my hands on the 'Inglorious Bastards' script and read it! nymag.com is the one that got themselves a copy Quentin Tarantinos next movie. and they say:
...and it is exactly as batshit over-the-top insane as we hoped.
Awesome! I just want to have you read what it is about and a few other details.
The script is 165 pages long and follows a squad of American soldiers called the Bastards - a guerrillalike force who travel behind German lines in 1944, striking terror into the hearts of Nazi soldiers. The Bastards are headed by Lieutenant Aldo Raine - the role we'd imagine Tarantino is hoping to land Brad Pitt for - described by the script as a "hillbilly from the mountains of Tennessee," who has around his neck a scar from where he survived a lynching. ("The scar will never once be mentioned," Tarantino writes.) In a parallel story, Inglorious Bastards follows a French Jewish teenager named Shosanna who survives the massacre of her family and flees to Paris, where she winds up running a movie house during the Nazi occupation. The Bastards' and Shosanna's stories intersect when a gala premiere of a Goebbels-produced propaganda film is put on in Shosanna's theater, with Hitler and most of the German High Command scheduled to attend. Both the Bastards and Shosanna launch plots intending to end the war a little earlier than anyone expected. The script's divided into five chapters: Chapter One: Once Upon a Time ... Nazi Occupied France Chapter Two: Inglorious Basterds Chapter Three: German Night in Paris Chapter Four: Operation Kino Chapter Five: Revenge of the Giant Face
To read the rest of the article, which i highly recommend CLICK HERE. It goes into a few more details on the chapters along with a couple lines of dialoge from the script. Which are great! I really hope Brad Pitt takes this role. Latinorveiw.com has also posted a short article on the script and they too say the script is awesome! They even posted a little dialogue from the script that I would like to share with you. Make sure to read their article to if your interested.
My name is Lt. Aldo Raine, and I'm putting together a special team. And I need me eight soldiers. Eight - Jewish - American - Soldiers. Now y'all might have heard rumors about the armada happening soon. Well, we'll be leavin a little earlier. We're gonna be dropped into France, dressed as civilians. And once we're in enemy territory, as a bushwackin' guerilla army, we're gonna be doin one thing, and thing only, Killin Nazi's. The members of the Nationalist Socialist Party, have conquered Europe through murder, torture, intimidation, and terror. And that's exactly what we're gonna do to them. Now I don't know about y'all. But I sure as hell, didn't come down from the goddamn smoky mountains, cross five thousand miles of water, fight my way through half Sicily, and then jump out of a fuckin air-o-plane, to teach the Nazi's lessons in humanity. Nazi ain't got no humanity. There the foot soldiers of a Jew hatin, mass murderin manic, and they need to be destroyed. That's why any and every son-of-a-bitch we find wearin a Nazi uniform, there gonna die. We will be cruel to the Germans, and through our cruelty, they will know who we are. They will find the evidence of our cruelty, in the disemboweled, dismembered, and disfigured bodies of their brothers we leave behind us. And the German will not be able to help themselves from imagining the cruelty their brothers endured at our hands, and our boot heals, and the edge of our knives. And the Germans, will be sickened by us. And the Germans, will talk about us. And the Germans, will fear us. And when the Germans close their eyes at night, and their subconscious tortures them for the evil they've done, it will be with thoughts of us, that it tortures them with. But I got a word of warning to all would be warriors. When you join my command, you take on debit. A debit you owe me, personally. Every man under my command, owes me, one hundred Nazi scalps. And I want my scalps. And all y'all will git me, one hundred Nazi scalps, taken from the heads of one hundred Nazi's or you will die trying. -Lt. Aldo Raine aka Aldo the Apache

Tarantinos 'Inglorious Bastards' script has been read!

by Joey Paur +
Venkman here and according to E online Brad Pitts might be one of the lead roles in Quentin Tarantinos new film 'Inglorious Bastards'. This is pretty cool! It is interesting to think about what type of acting Quentin could pull out of Brad. Here is what E Online says:
The Oscar-winning writer-director has confirmed he will start production in October on his long-gestating World War II epic, Inglorious Bastards. And while there's been no official announcement, Pitt's name has surfaced for one of the leads. Per the Hollywood Reporter, Tarantino plans to do the bulk of the shooting in Europe and hopes to finish the war drama in time to submit to next May's Cannes Film Festival. That would seem to fit Pitt's schedule, having set up a homebase in France awaiting Angelina Jolie's birth.
Well I guess it could work out if everyone involved wants it to. I won't object to it, I think brad pitt is a great choice for a movie like this. This movie is already on my "I can't wait to see list". Just so you know Pitt is not confirmed yet, but Tim Roth and and Michael Madsen are. So there ya have it!

Venkman here with something really great to show you! If you are a big Star Wars and Video Games Fanatic you are going to love this! I have to be honest, I have not been to impressed by the most recent Star Wars video games to hit our games consoles. They are fun to play, but I just could never get really into them. They lacked something. But this... well this is a different story. 'Star Wars: The Force Unleashed' looks absolutely amazing! Here is a game that hit on everything we would love to see and do. I have been following the production of this game since Lucasfilm announced it was getting made and I have been impressed with everything I have seen so far. But this trailer that is being shown exclusively at EW.com is the icing on the cake. It looks like it has a good story, amazing cg graphics, awesome game play, and lots of details. I can't wait to play this game of greatness. So click on the pic below and watch the trailer!

I gotta say It was nice to see Warner Brothers Animation finally after all these years step outside the box and do something different for a change. Superman and Doomsday wasn't that good and the Justin league movie they made was just awful! The animation was ok but the story was all over the place and ridiculous. I was just sick and tired of seeing Bruce Timm's early 90's animation style carry on into the 21st century, sure its gone though different variations but its still the same. I understand his style is his animation signature but lets see something different for cryin out loud! Lets explore some new territory! Batman: Gotham Knight is definitely new territory. I was surprised Bruce Timm was an executive producer on it. Looks like he finally put on a new pair of pants. Batman: Gotham Knight is six short animated films. Each film has a different story and animation style to it, each style was done by some of Japans most talented visionaries. The following is a list of each short film who worked on it and what its about:
In "Have I Got a Story for You," Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Josh Olson ("A History of Violence") tells the story of how chance encounters with Batman by a group of youngsters leave each kid with a very different impression of the Dark Knight.
This one was cool because I liked how each kid in the story had a different take on Batman, how he looked and fought crime. They saw him more as a creature instead of a man in a bat costume.
In "Crossfire," acclaimed novelist/comics writer Greg Rucka tells the story of Gotham City police having to get over their distrust of Batman - while under fire from the mob.
This is the chapter that 5 minutes of was released online. This film showed that Gotham had barricaded part of Gotham City where they kept all the crazy criminals, and two cops ended up in the middle of a mob deal gone bad. The action in this one was pretty cool.
In "Field Test," writer Jordan Goldberg showcases the incredible high-tech arsenal Batman commands and reveals that there are some things even Batman won't do in his pursuit of justice.
I liked the concept for this one and how Lucius Fox created a force field for the Batsuit that deflected bullets.
"In Darkness Dwells" takes Batman into the Gotham sewers to face "Killer Croc," a deformed thug who seems even more monstrous after the Scarecrow, and his fear toxin, makes a resurgence, in a story by David S. Goyer, co-screenwriter of "Batman Begins."
This chapter was pretty cool. You got to see this crazy Killer Croc design that looked great, different from anything I had seen on him before. The action was very cool. There is a point where Batman gets bit on the shoulder by Killer Croc real bad. So bad in fact that his shoulder was squirting out blood through the rest of the chapter! This also had some great action shots in it.
Award-winning comics writer Brian Azzarello explores an early chapter of Bruce Wayne's training in "Working Through Pain," showing how a mysterious and exotic Indian woman named Cassandra introduced Batman to techniques that would help him to conquer the physical and spiritual consequences of what he does.
This chapter was interesting. I loved the animation style and the Batman design in this one but it was more of a flash back story, while Batman is crawling through a sewer. The back story was ok, there was one action sequence in the back story that I liked but that was about it.
Finally, in "Deadshot," four-time Emmy Award-winning writer Alan Burnett ties together threads from all the Batman Gotham Knight chapters, as Batman must thwart an unerring assassin whose love of guns and disregard for human life lets him cross lines that even a Dark Knight shies away from.
Out of all of the chapters this last one was my favorite. The story, the animation everything was right on with this one. I also loved the villain in this one; he had that ‘Wanted' sniper thing going for him. It has a great action sequence that takes place on top of a train. There is something to like from each of these short animated Batman films. This was a fun movie to watch. And incase you are wondering if it is ok for kids. It depends on what kind of movies you let them watch. ‘Batman: Gotham Knight' is full of violence and blood. This is a great contribution to the Batman legacy for us fanboys out there. So buy it or rent, you won't be disappointed. I would like to see Warner Bros. Animation continue to play with new animation styles and just fianlly break away from this Bruce Timm style standard that has been set over at their animation studio. They could learn a thing or two from Marvel Animation. Every animated movie they have put out has its own feel and style, they don't stick with just one. The original 'Batman: The Animated Series' is amazing and still holds strong today. Let that animation style stay with it. ‘Batman: Gotham Knight' is everything a Batman fan wants to see. - Dr. Venkman

Dr. Venkman DVD Review: Batman: Gotham Knight!

Venkman here to let you know that the new full movie trailer for the film 'Quarantine' was recently released! As you may or may not know this is a remake of another foreign horror film except I think the trailer for the first movie made was much better. This one seems a bit more staged. It looks creepy and fun but it definitely does not feel real at all. 'Quarantine' is going to be filmed like 'Cloverfield' and 'Diary of the Dead'. There is going to be a guy walking around with a camera that will never turn off no matter, because the filmmaker Angela in the movie tells him to "Tape Everything! Do you here me? Tape everything!" The movie stars Jennifer Carpenter, Jay Hernandez, Johnathon Schaech, and Rade Serbedzij. Click on the Pic to watch the trailer in HD over at Yahoo!

'Quarantine' Movie Trailer has been let out!

So MGM is really going through with this huh? The original 'Red Dawn' is one hell of a ridiculous movie to begin with. Sure its a classic bad 80's film but why remake a bad movie? I just don't get it. Well MGM went and got the remake a screenwriter and director. Carl Ellsworth will be writing the script he also wrote the film 'Red Eye' and Dan Bradley will be the remakes director. Who is Dan Bradley? Variety says:
Dan Bradley, a second unit director and/or stunt coordinator on "The Bourne Ultimatum," "Spider-Man 3" and the forthcoming "Quantum of Solace," will move into the director's chair for the update. Contrafilm's Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson will produce.
So he is a second unit director huh? Thats cool. He has worked on some good movies. Now the poor guy gets to direct a remake of a bad cult classic. We'll I guess he wanted it. there are a million other ideas I would like to do or see made before a remake of 'Red Dawn'. Here is what the screenwriter Ellsworth has to say about the movie:
"The tone is going to be very intense, very much keeping in mind the post-9/11 world that we're in," says Ellsworth, who was 11 when the original was released. "As 'Red Dawn' scared the heck out of people in 1984, we feel that the world is kind of already filled with a lot of paranoia and unease, so why not scare the hell out of people again?"
Umm... because the idea is not really that scary at all. It just confuses the hell out of me that people like him think re-making old cult classics is a great idea. Sorry, I just can't share his enthusiasm. What do you think? Are you pumped that 'Red Dawn' is being remade? -Dr. Venkman

'Red Dawn' Remake gets itself a Director

Venkman here with a great little horror movie trailer! I have not hered of this movie until today. It is called 'Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer' and it looks like it has the makings of a cult classic. The one thing thats its missing is Bruce Campbell as the lead, but this Trevor Matthews guy will have to do. It calls for a younger actor anyway. The movie also has Robert Englund in it though so thats awesome! Movieweb gives us a little description of the film:
No one would ever believe what happened the night Jack Brooks witnessed the brutal murder of his family. His life destroyed, all he has left is an unquenchable fury he's now fighting to control. Now the local plumber, Jack continuously struggles with his memories as his life becomes a downward spiral until his girlfriend Eve convinces him to attend night classes. Little does he know that in that dank, tiresome classroom, his destiny awaits. Evil awakens as Jack unknowingly disturbs the grounds surrounding Professor Crowley 's dilapidated old home. Lured by this ancient demonic power, Crowley discovers a monstrous black heart that quickly forces its way into him. Possessed by the heart now beating in his chest, the Professor starts a slow, gruesome, transformation... One night, as Crowley bursts into a creature of legends, Jack finally discovers the true purpose of his rage as he attempts to save the lives of his classmates and learns that you can't run from your past...
'Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer' is definitley B movie material and looks much better than M. Nights self proclaimed "best B movie ever" 'The Happening', unfortuately not as many people will see it. This looks like a fun movie! Check out the trailer below!

'Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer' Trailer!

by Joey Paur +
‘Chapter 27' is a movie based on Mark David Chapman the bastard that killed John Lennon. The movie stars Jared Leto and Lindsay Lohan. Someone thought it would make a great movie about this guy, why I have no idea. I would have much rather put the money into making a decent movie about the life of John Lennon, now he is an interesting guy! If you haven't been able to feel the vibe I am putting out on this movie, it's a negative one. I thought it would be at least a little interesting, but no, it was not interesting at all. The movie was bad, the script was bad, the acting was bad. Leto went and put on all the weight to play Mark Chapman and for what? Nothing. The movie was terrible I am not sure why anyone wasted there time on making this utter nonsense. There is nothing interesting about Mark David Chapman in this film. The movie moved at a snails pace. You know what is going to happen at the end so I hate to say it, but I found myself telling my wife in the middle of the movie that "I wish they would get to the part where he kills John already". Even when the part did come I just didn't care anymore because I never got into the movie. Had a movie been made on John Lennon and you come to know the man as the movie progresses and you start to become engulfed with his life. When the part of John getting killed comes along, it should really hit you and effect you in some way. But this movie does nothing like that. You feel nothing for Mark Chapman and you feel nothing when John is killed. You would think there would at least be a little tension before everything goes down, but its not there. There is literally no emotion at all in this movie. The dialogue is as monotone as the movie itself. I could not stand Jared Leto's voice over narration in the film, it was so annoying I think he overplayed his Character. Yeah thats how Mark talked, but why did they make this movie again? Personally I don't think Jared Leto is a good actor he sure didn't prove himself in this one. Lindsay Lohan pretty played herself. There was this repetitive close up shot throughout the film of Mark unfolding a cloth with revolver in it. It was ridiculous! The movie was directed by J.P. Schaefer. I will say this the movie did paint Mark Chapman l as a pathetic looser. I've seen much better movies about pathetic loosers though. Who knows maybe the audience was supposed to not like 'Chapter 27'. The film only opened up in 11 theaters and made about $56,000 so that should tell you something about the movie. 'Chapter 27' was one of those few movie I felt was waste of my time, but thats why I am writing this review, I watched the stupid movie so you wouldn't have to. -Dr. Venkman
