Rob McElhenney Confirmed to Have Cameo in DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE
There are so many rumors and a lot of wild speculation about what characters and actors we are going to see in Deadpool & Wolverine. At this point, anything is possible!
But, this is one new cameo that has been confirmed thanks to the latest episode of Welcome to Wrexham. It was there we learned that Ryan Reynolds’ partner and Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney will appear in the film!
We don’t know who exactly he’s playing in the film. And while the costumes are blurred out in the video, there’s a shot where audiences see a Time Variance Authority logo on his upper chest. Reynolds also hints that he's playing one of their agents.
There were rumors that he might be playing a Deadpool Variant, but it doesn’t seem like that’s the case.
When talking about all of the crazy rumors surrounding the movie, Reynolds said: "You know, movies like this...there's so much speculation about so many people that might end up in the film.”
He added: "I saw one that was convinced that Elvis is in the movie. Anything can happen and that's sort of what I love about this universe. Surprises are the essence of Deadpool."
Some of the rumored characters include Halle Berry as Storm, Famke Jensen as Jean Grey, Ben Affleck as Daredevil, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, and James Marsden as Cyclops, Henry Cavill as Wolverine, Then, of course, there’s Taylor Swift.
Some of the other rumored casting includes Brian Cox as William Striker, Owen Wilson as Mobius, Lewis Tan as Shatterstar, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Taron Edgerton as a different Wolverine, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, Tara Strong as Miss Minutes, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Dafne Keen as X-23, Rebecca Romijn as Raven, Julian McMahon as Doctor Doom, Liev Schreiber as Sabertooth, Daniel Radcliffe as Wolverine, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld previously made comments about the cameos, saying: “I’ve been very fortunate people put stuff in front of me. And trust me, all I’m saying is, I saw that cast list. I think people are just going to freakin’ get blown away, and I’m not saying shit more than what I just said.”
The confirmed cast includes Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Emma Corrin as the villain, Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic as Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen in an unknown role, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al.
They are joined by Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna will also return to the franchise as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend Yukio. It was previously confirmed that Jennifer Garner will return as Elektra in the movie.
